In August 2011, Monita Chapman had just come to the end of her scheduled maternity leave, but she wanted to return to a job that would allow her to spend more time with her kids. She craved a more flexible schedule, and to be her own boss.
During her maternity leave, Monita had been working at Simply Supper, a company that provides busy families with all the ingredients they need to create homemade, nutritious meals quickly, without wasting their valuable time and effort.
So when Monita and her husband Denny heard that Simply Supper may be available for purchase, they jumped at the chance. It ticked so many boxes: giving Monita the flexibility to parent in the way that she wanted, while providing both of them with the opportunity to do something truly meaningful in their local community.
“The Simply Supper way of doing things was how our family already lived,” says Monita. “To have meals in the freezer, to plan ahead, to always eat fresh, healthy meals; that why I was driven to buy the business.”
