Okay I've tried the pizza before it was alright, but I never rushed back to get another one soon. So I thought why not try their other selections sitting in the dining room.
If you've ever seen those restaurant tv makeover shows, this place would be a candidate. While it appears clean the place needs updating. Very tacky dining room, dirty carpet, dirty menu sign in the open kitchen.
It is a pizza and Italian foods joint run buy greek people. OK we ordered the large greek salad, the spaghetti with meat sauce (on special that day), and another pasta dish (i wont say because it may reveal my identity) we also ordered two beverages which were adequate.
I was very disappointed with the salad, it was a large portion, but was only iceberg lettuce a few pieces of flavorless tomatoes smothered in a creamy dressing topped with crumbled feta and a few few of the black canned olives. While fresh, this was not a greek salad. Where were the kalamata olives, red onions, cucumber at least.
Ok how hard is it to make a tasty bolognese sauce, with a little effort it can be done. My spaghetti was a little overcooked, the sauce was very plain (probably the worst I've every had), and had little meat. With all that flour and dough in the joint why not make fresh pasta?. this cook seems uninspired.
the other pasta dish was average.
July 29/2011 Stop by at 8:40pm and bum around with pizza boy. Went on 6 deliveries and got FREE spagetti with meat sauce and can of brio. FREE FOOD HERE.
June 14/2011 came in 20:10hrs to visit, ended up having great time going out with pizza guy delivering pizzas/subs and pasta-want to see georgetown. Had 4 brios and (1)H2O for Free! also pick up 21:52pm 4 cases of 24 beers for the owner. Dinner at 00:10am I had $6.95 Spaghetti dinner/chicken wings $7.95lb and can of rootbeer. I am just a customer here, the owner Angelo is a very kind man to his customers.
It is 18:10hrs on June7th/2011 and I want $6.95 spaghetti special like before. Homemade meat sauce is yummm and 2 cans of Brio pop. After The pizza man let me come along on a delivery, I went to see what Georgetown is like...well i saw the welfare apts scary here. Royal Pizza still #1 in my books.
I Came from Wong's in Brampton..Walked out from bad food here..see my Wong's Chinese food review. It is 19:11hrs,June 02/2011 and I'm happy because I know it's homade food here. I order small pizza with sausage/onions/green olives..Yummm. 2 cans of Brio pop. Pizza cooked right, light brown at the bottom, Perfect. Homemade Pizza Sauce I Know and more cheese on this pizza than Toppers. Toppers in Georgetown has KIDS! working using plastic cups to control food cost and is cheap on the cheese!!!. But I watch the owner use his hands and put extra amount of toppings he cares about his customers. And the only place in Georgetown where you can get BRIO pop in a pizza restaruant....I live in Milton and Toppers(same owner)he lives close to Milton store this store pizza's are cold when delivered. I order once and Milton Topper's pizza was cold and chewy when delivery came..I don't like to waste my money on TOPPERS RACOON STYLE PIZZA...
I lived in Milton since 2004 and there is no old school style(comfort food) pizza restaurants, like i grew up in 1960's and 1970's. On May,25,2011 at 19:45hrs i sat down in Royal Pizza and i ordered the spaghetti special with a chocolate milk. This place was busy!!. Counted 24 men at tables watching the hockey game drinking beer and 6 large pizzas and it looks like at least 20lbs of chicken wings on the tables. This place ROCKS, the pasta had homemade meat sauce on it and i got garlic bread too. This is OLD SCHOOL PASTA like mother made.
We just moved to Georgetown 1 year ago from toronto. Every sunday is pizza day at our home and we have ordered from everywhere you can imagine. Our neighbour suggested Royal Pizza, so we ordered... It was the best tasting pizza me and my family have ever tasted!! Its not your typical pizza with NO cheese and ALL crust. It was PERFECT!! We are italian and we know good pizza and this by far is the best. The ingredients were fresh, the cheese is REAL cheese.
We decided to go in one day and see where and how the pizzas are made. Its a very simple place, nice european family who owns and runs the place. It always seems busy and the owner told us they have been in business for over 35 years.
After reading all the reviews it seems this place is #1 for traditional style pizza except one guy who prefers Toppers who probably works at Toppers, haha! Like i said were ITALIAN and have tried ALL pizza places in G-town :))
Royal always makes the best pizza! Delivery is always quick too. The cheese always stays right where it's supposed to and never drips with grease. I'll order again for sure.
Royal Pizza is the best - hands down.
I can finally pick up a slice of pizza without the cheese rolling off my pizza, without grease dripping down my chin. This has been the family pizza spot for 20 something years i have been around and I wont eat anywhere else!!!
the food here is delicious, an old school pizzeria with none of the bells and whistles of the big italian chains....comfortable and clean the real star of the show is the food...delicious pizza and homemade italian dishes. Hard to find these days! Pizza subs and meatball subs baked in the pizza oven. yum yum
