My husband and I ...

My husband and I have been at Lakewood for 3 years now and just love it. The campsites and grounds are so clean and well maintained. The owners and staff are friendly and very accommodating. The events put on through out the season are enjoyed by everyone. We plan on staying a very long time.

I can not believe the review of Lakewood from jon316 :( The park we stayed at was clean and the average age of campers was 60+. The pool was sparkling all summer with the exception of one instance of fouled pool by visitor's child. Washrooms were recently renovated, staff was friendly. As for the trees, well mature trees need trimming all the time - we had no concerns regarding them while we were there. The store could use a little more stuff (hot dogs , etc.), but visiting next door for a bite wasn't a problem.

smoke gets in your eyes(and lungs)

The place to go if you like to sit around filthy campfires fueled with any kind of substance, that produces frightening flames or sit inside and hide from happy holidayers who will,, like the fires,smoke anything.! Trees are beautiful indeed but not trimmed and we feared for our lives. Pool is beautiful but chlorine is doled out like gold and by mid summer is more like soup . Rumble of leather dressed folks with motorcycles kept us up at night and woke us early AM. They are friendly enough,,good thing as there are a lot of them there. Beautiful lakeside location,is stunning,,go and ignor the rest. Managers,,,,unique!
