Brothers Jeff and Greg Buzbuzian wanted to introduce Canadians to the type of heightened sophistication in jewellery design they’d seen in Europe. When they opened Knar Jewellery, they modeled the shop after the continent’s elegant luxuries. “There are a lot of design and manufacturing technologies and skills that are just not employed in Canada or North America,” says Jeff. “[Europeans have] had years of tooling experience and they’ve also had an audience that really believed in gold as a currency.”
The brothers understand the lasting value of gold, diamonds and other precious metals and gems in their lives and seek to bring their customers cherished memories through these commodities.
To the untrained eye, a diamond, cubic zirconia and low-grade diamond can look identical. But Jeff is quick to point out that the gems and metals you get at Knar Jewellery are instantly recognizable for their superior quality. “You would absolutely see the brilliance and the fire in the diamonds,” says Jeff. “This is, without question, going to be the differentiator.” At Knar, they focus on the four Cs commonly known in the diamond world – cut, colour, clarity and carat – but with each factor, they take it up several notches. “What they’re getting is going to last a very long time. And they’re going to be very happy with it,” says Jeff.
