“I had a client who asked for 'happy' flowers for a BBQ. I came up with a selection of flowers in yellows, bright greens and warm colours and she loved it,” smiles Anna Gileno, co-owner of Extravaganza Florist Ltd. in Woodbridge. “She said the arrangement ‘spoke’ to her. That's important – that the flowers speak to the client.”

Responding to such personal requests for flowers needed for all occasions is all in a day’s work for Anna. She’s been in the trade for decades, running her own store since 1985. There’s little she hasn’t seen or done when it comes to sharing in the special times in peoples' lives through flowers.

“We've done some fun things over the years; purses and baseballs and frogs and poodles all made out of flowers. I don’t remember the half of it!”

Traditional arrangements with the signature Extravaganza touch are the shop's mainstay though, including everything from a cheerful 'Thank You' bouquet to full floral decorations for a wedding – all produced with care under Anna’s diligent eye.
