What do you do when you get invited to an ugly Christmas sweater party? You rummage around your attic or garage looking for that shabby knit piece given to you by your great-aunt. But when you really want to make a statement at the office or win the ugly Christmas sweater contest, then you go to the pros at Holiday Rejects.
“It’s surprisingly difficult to find a hideous sweater,” says Kyle Fitzgerald, one of the owners of Holiday Rejects. The need is so popular, in fact, that when Kyle and his business partners Adil Hooda and Jack Hsu started running the business in Christmas of 2012, they pretty much sold out their first season. “We set up with a box of sweaters that we had bought wholesale,” Kyle recalls. “And what do you know, we had soon sold 700 sweaters online!”
