Having operated solely as a preschool for eight years, Helping Hands Preschool underwent a major renovation and re-opened as Helping Hands Early Learning Centre in October 2014, adding a daycare to their full preschool services. “Over the past few years we’ve had a lot of parents who absolutely loved us, but had to return to work,” says owner Amanda Kimble. "Once they returned to work they had to withdraw their children and put them in a daycare. They suggested to us many times that we should open up a daycare.”
To create the daycare, Helping Hands Early Learning Centre added a kitchen, a new child-friendly bathroom and a large indoor gym. But, explains Amanda, the changes weren't only inside the building. “We have also created a very large outdoor play area. We have a lot of natural space to run around amongst the trees, multiple climbing structures and a vegetable and flower garden. It’s lovely out there.”
