Greg and Deirdre McCracken have been diving since the early 1990s. With so many years of experience between them, the founders of Ocean Quest Dive Centre know exactly what modern divers need, whether they are interested in professional and technical diving or recreational diving.
“We started the business with the goal of being success driven, rather than money driven,” explains Greg. “We wanted to measure our success by the quality of our business and its reputation, rather than its financial strength, and we’ve continued to do so since we opened.”
Greg and Deirdre have designed a shop with an emphasis on both training and experience, paying specific attention to each student. While the standard ratio for diving courses is one instructor for every eight students, Ocean Quest Dive Centre cuts class sizes in half to allow for a higher quality of training in each course.
“As both Deirdre and I have been active in the industry for a long time, we have first-hand knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of the culture surrounding diving. Our goal is to grow the industry properly, focusing on making diving more accessible, more communal, and with a greater emphasis on safety and experience.”
