When Nate Lusignan and Jorrah Porteous met back in Grade 2, neither of them had any inkling that their friendship might someday give rise to a thriving business. Yet today, more than 20 years later, that's precisely what's happened; since 2009, these lifelong friends — born and raised in East Vancouver — have served as the Principals of Point Blank Creative, a full-service visual communications agency that creates content and campaigns for a variety of high-profile clients, including Unifor and the David Suzuki Foundation.
“We were both pretty involved in various political campaigns, and we'd gotten really sick of some of the campaign videos that were being produced,” Nate recalls. “So we started producing a few just for fun, and people got really interested in them. We had good media coverage, and suddenly people started offering us money to produce videos.”
“We were working out of [Nate's] basement on Commercial Drive, and that just picked up some momentum,” Jorrah notes. “We started building a niche, and finally decided it was time to make the move into our own space.”
