Decided to try their new location.Disastrous! Certainly not the quality of food we were used to. Lemon chicken was thin and dry. One piece was pink inside. Shrimp was over breaded and one piece was black inside! When complaint was made server shrugged it off. When bill came full price was charged with no compensation. Refused to pay without some recompense . Gave us 10 percent off. No tip left but we also will never return and definitely would not recommend to anyone.
We went here after a movie for won ton soup. it was a late sunday afternoon & the place was dead. The soup was just ok.....Ive had better won ton soup at the south sea. we were only given one small bowl of dry noodles for the 3 of us. also we were not given any water, had to get up & help myself at the bar.
I may go back & order something more just b/c soup is soup. Id like to give them a chance.
I used to eat there all the time when the original owner ran it. He retired and an extremely arrogant owner took over. Most of the old staff left. Quality dived and so did cleanliness. You get broken tea pots and plates. You'd think from speaking to the owner that he is the greatest restaurantuer on the planet. He has completely ruined the best canadian chinese food restaurant in Hamilton.

The Food here is fantastic! The best Spring rolls I have ever had and very attentive service.
Unlike a lot of Chinese restaurants the food here is not too salty or greasy. It won't leave you feeling sick or hungry a couple of hours later.

This is a fantastic chinese food restaurant.Easily the best shrimp rolls in the city.The hot pepper beef is wonderfully prepared as well as the orange chicken.Even though we were stuffed we still felt like more.The garlic spareribs are the best in the city as well!

The hot and sour soup was exceptional. It was well stocked with chicken, shrimps and other items. It was nice and spicy.
The rest of the items were good, with the exception of the Po bo Szechuan chicken dish. I believe that is irrelevant here since any Szechuan dish that we ordered would have been similar.
Whenever I order a Szechuan dish, I would expect it to be very spicy. Out of a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being bland and 10, I have a huge fire in my mouth, the chicken dish was 1. No more. I was very disappointed, kind of like ordering peppers and mushrooms on a pizza and not arriving.
Otherwise, the dish was just ok. It really could have used more of the scant chicken pieces that we received. I give the meal, 7 out of 10.
While the restaurant itself is OK, I tend to order out far more often than eat in. In my opinion, this is the only chinese food restaurant for delivery. Food arrives quickly, hot and the portions are quite large. The staff are quite willing to adjust the menu for personal taste. Undoubtedly the best spring rolls and egg rolls in the city.
I don't know why anyone would say that Forbidden City has poor service and terrible food. I for one love the establishment. The service is excellent, they can't bring the soup fast enough .When I am there the food is always hot, I repeat always hot and the staff is friendly and accomodating.
The restaurant is not usually very busy and I simply enjoy eating there.
I would reccomend it highly.

It behooves me to say that this is arguably the finest Chinese food in North America. It is superlative in every sense of the word. The service is not as outstanding as it once was, but it still bests most restaurants. Indescribably essential.
We oredered delivery - friendly on phone, answered my questions, delivered pretty fast, food was hot, large portions and the SPRING ROLLS ARE THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD!!! Great Food!
