“If you’ve never been before,” says owner Cathy Brown of Heritage House Catering. “First of all, you'll feel excitement because it is a heritage house (built in 1912) – designated heritage – and it just comes from a different era. It’s very statuesque and welcoming." Once inside, visitors will see shelves upon shelves of Cathy’s home-cooked goodies in her Gourmet-to-Go shop, ranging from artisan soups and relishes to every dessert you can imagine.
Cathy understands that atmosphere plays a huge part in the dining experience and she just had to have the heritage house in charming Pickering Village. The two-storey building features a warm blue exterior with white trim accents, and there’s an abundance of sophisticated flora welcoming visitors. Cathy’s hard work has resulted in an inviting environment, one that immediately lets foodies know they’ve arrived at the right place. “It’s like coming home,” she describes, “right when you walk in.”
If you can’t make it down to Pickering Village, no problem, Cathy has a food truck to bring her dishes to you. The black truck with the large Heritage House Food Truck logo on it can also be spotted at such popular events as Boots and Hearts, Taste of Ajax and the Pan Am Games.
