I loove this place so yummy. unlike other chinese food places in Thunder Bay, food is cooked to perfection. best fried rice. bon bon spare ribs mmm or garlic pork ribs. consome soup is good or try the dai jug woey. Service is alright so far from what I experienced. Kind of in a sketchy neighborhood but if you go before dark there is nothing to worry about. Overall I really recommend this place. Dont go to china house their food bland and soggy compared to this.

I've ordered take out from here for the past 9 years. The last time I was here I was not too impressed. The food was ok. Beef looked a little pink. A thing of rice was added to my order by accident. But the lady working at the counter made me think twice about coming back. It was a busy night and she was sighing and mumbling geez for the whole 10minutes I waited for my take out. Then she said "I don't know why its so busy. Its a Monday night." If that is how business is regarded I won't be back. I could do without the sighing and hearing geez while I am waiting for my food.

I've been coming to The Mandarin for many years. The staff are very friendly and I have come to know the owner personally. I love the food there and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Will never go here agian. The food is great but the owners wife has a complete attitude problem. The owner has no consideration for his customers either. Me and my friend used to go here lots but the owners wife just treats everyone like garbage. She took our order and then came out with the wrong stuff and then argued with us insiting that what she brought was what my friend ordered. I waited atlest 10 minutes for her to bring me a beer and there was only one other person in the resturant. She also took our plates away before it was done because she wanted to close early. So we went back an other night and got a free meal. Everything was good now right? While we went back the next week and since its in a bad part of town one person tried to steal money out of the till when the owner was counting it. The guy tried to grab the money and run. So me and my friend grabed the guy and threw him out into the street. So we got the money back and took the person outside of the store for the owner, and the owner locked all three of us out in the street. Good thing for him we had already paid our bill right?? Thats customer service. Anyways if you relly insist on going to such a place atlest order the signapor noodles because they are awesome.
