LEN Democratic Purveyors of Fine Art & BeautifulThings

This store has quite a name. And it has quite a story behind it. LEN (for short) was opened by Christal Pshyk and David Kravinchuk in the Danforth area in 2013 after they realized they were onto something. That ‘something’ was a consumer hunger for good quality, unique, locally produced and reasonably priced home and gift items.

Christal and David discovered this appetite when they opened a pop-up store at the end of 2012 as part of the ‘Renew Danforth’ program. The pop-up event was conceived to help revitalize the area and bring the heart back to the community. “We ran our store for one month and it was so successful that we decided to open permanently the following year,” explains Christal. “People are impressed with the good quality and they appreciate that they don’t have to go elsewhere to find something nice. It’s in the neighbourhood and they can walk here.”

Oh — and David’s dad Len inspired the store too, hence that part of the name.
