Stuart Lloyd's career trajectory seemed to be solidified as a teenager, decades before he became the owner and hearing instrument practitioner of Burnaby's Lloyd Hearing Solutions in July 2013.
Stuart eased into the retail landscape by selling hearing aids with his father David, who bought the hearing clinic in 1970 at Sears Hearing Aid Centres in Burnaby Metrotown and later in Surrey's Guildford Mall and Coquitlam Centre. While he had always enjoyed working with people and selling hearing aids, the job had its challenges in the beginning.
"It was discouraging because the seniors never listened to me," says Stuart. "They'd say they didn't trust a 17-year-old with their hearing — someone who was younger than their grandkids." He went on to work as a purchasing manager for various companies and got back into the business at 30. After inheriting his father's company with his brother Robert, they both launched their own clinics; Robert went on to establish Emerald Hearing in Surrey.
With over 25 years' experience, Stuart is a registered member of the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia. Lloyd Hearing Solutions provides expert hearing services, competitively priced product options and comprehensive testing using the most advanced diagnostic tools in a compassionate and respectful environment.
