Good food , great prices ....but would'nt go there when the lady (owner?) is in charge . She got lots of attitude , specially towards her 'own countrymen' , but very nice & polite when she sees white skin .... the man is good tho.
I am in love with this place. The food's great. The service is phenomenal. The prices are low too! I love the aromas that overcome my senses, as I walk into this place. I usually order their butter chicken and naan combo for 5 bucks and boom, bam - it's all ready to pickup, at any time in the day. The softest and tastiest naan I've had in this city. The butter chicken is rich and words simply can't describe its heavenly taste. I'm warmly welcomed by the owner lady. She is dynamic - when I'm in a rush, she's quick and efficient with my order and when I'm not, she is quite friendly. I highly recommend Oh! Bombay to anybody who likes Indian food. But I warn you, once you try it, you're hooked for life! :)
My new favorite Indian place. The food is excellent and the prices are hard to beat. Love the chicken tikka masala for just $8 bucks for a big bowl. Must try the aloo gobhi. Yummy! Next fave is the butter chicken. The nan bread is delicous – not chewy like at other places. The décor is nice and the place is very clean. Very friendly service. My new haunt :)
I was quite impressed with the variety of dishes, veg/non, that were available. The dishes were kept in covered, warming trays, behind the counter with a glass sneeze guard. Equal selection for veg and meat dishes. Despite little description cards with the name of the dishes displayed in front of the glass, it was difficult to decide what dishes I wanted in my thalis! The lady behind the counter (owner?), was very helpful and patient while I decided and asked questions. This is always a good sign! I think it would've helped if there was a larger sign posted, letting customers know how many items/thali + cost as I was overwhelmed with the variety AND figuring out how many I had to pick. Then again, this was my first visit, so perhaps they have core regulars who already know the drill. Fresh naan was prepped for our take-out, but I think dining in would be better as the foil made it a bit soggy once I got home. Still far better than having the naan out on a warming tray! All the dishes that I ordered had really good flavour. Although they were a bit too salty! And if you can't handle spicy food, with the exception of the fried fish, all the gravy-based dishes were at least medium-spicy. I do prefer this, as opposed to watered down taste. The prices were good with a non-veg thali at $6.99. However, I noticed that some items were more sauce than meat/paneer! ***I must mention that the mango lassi was DELICIOUS though and great deal @ $1.99/glass.*** I really wanted to try their samosas 'cause I heard that they were good, but the lady stated that all the samosas were taken for an event. Great price though @ $0.40/ea! Oh! Bombay is not really in my 'hood, but I would definitely give it another go when I'm in the area.
My Husband and I went in one day. My Husband and i were only going in to buy a samosa, but after entering, when we were greeted by a smiling lady, ready to help us right away, i couldn't resist staying to see what they had. There were even cute little samples of Mango Lassi. it is to die for! My husband had a delicious Rogan Josh and i had and amazing Fish Kofta. Now we visit all the time!
