I visit frequently. The service is prompt, you write down your orders yourself. The food is good, especially the grilled chicken on rice and their spring rolls are great as well. Great price and big portions. I would definitely recommend.
This is a great source for local Vietnamese cuisine! The prices are good and the food is tasty. The atmosphere is pleasant and unique. Sometimes you have to get after the servers a little bit if you require something. But overall, very good.
Excellent food. This is for anyone who wants real authentic vietnamese food with good prices.
We have found Pho-Mi 89 to be a dependable casual restaurant with consistent food quality offering superior value. The large room is bright and clean. Our usual choices include their full-flavored soups which are particularly good as they are all made with fresh ingredients. However, tonight we explored some other menu items. The 2 Shrimp Rolls were very ordinary and relatively expensive at $3.75 for a slice of small shrimp wrapped with a few beans sprouts and rice noodles and a spec of lettuce. The Fried Spring Rolls were also mediocre with little filling at all. Nothing offensive, just not as good as their noodle soups and the entrées we've previously enjoyed. The Chicken with Cashews was a generous portion of sautéed chicken with vegetables and nuts accompanied by a large portion of steamed rice. The chicken was tender and mildly seasoned. At $6.50, an excellent value. The Pork Chop and Chicken with Rice was an equally good value and pleasing choice. The slender chop and plump boneless chicken thigh tasted soy-marinated before grilling and were served very hot and still moist. Steamed rice and an attractive cucumber and tomato salad completed the plate. A variety of condiments like soy, chili sauces and a sweet barbecue sauce are on every table to allow diners to adjust items' flavor. Complementary mugs of green tea are promptly served soon after being seated. Service here varies from pleasantly chatty to indifferent, depending on the person and business volume. Some nights dinner service can be a little frantic as this place gets quite busy. If you are new to Vietnamese cuisine, ask for assistance. We have found the managers to be very helpful in guiding our choices.
Over all the food is good, authentic. Once though, we had a cold noodle in hot soup. hmmm? we had to return it and had an exchange. Service was not so good, as the server are too busy to mind their manners and politeness to the guest. I had to asked for a high chair and some spoons and forks twice before we got it. Would be a much better dining experience if the service is improved. Until then, better find other vietnamese restaurants.
