We came here for my sister's birthday and we all had a great time! The food, wow, was so good! The dessert crepes just made our night even better than it already was. We had a bit of wine, some people had beer (my boyfriend said their beer list was actually really good) and coffees. Everything was really good. Our server was lovely. The prices were fair, the decor is so neat (even their bathrooms are nice). I cannot wait to go back here...highly recommended.
I have to admit that I've been coming here since they opened (almost), and just decided to write a review now. I really enjoy this place...I have to come to Pembroke about once a month, and I always love coming here. In a gastronomically glum place, The Nook really shines. The crepes are delicious and fresh, the service is great, and it's just a nice place to go. I never leave hungry, that's for sure! This place really deserves some credit...they've turned crepes into something special. YUM
Best little creperie I've ever been to! It's so good, you forget that all they have is crepes! They have quite a large and varied menu of sweet and savoury crepes. I had a full savoury one, a soup, salad AND a dessert crepe! It was all delicious (the caesar salad was crazy-good!), fresh and even beautiful to look at. Nice wine selection (although I would have liked to see a few more options of wines by the glass, but I found a wine I really enjoyed anyway), and great espresso. Excellent service. Charming charming ambiance! I will go back again and again.
I've been coming here since this establishment opended nearly 2 years ago, and I usually try to come here twice a month, sometimes more! I'm shocked to read the previous negative review, as I've always had the best experience here, and honestly, everyone I have talked to loves The Nook! I usually come with a girlfriend for lunch, and often with my husband for a romantic nite out. I have noticed that they do charge a sharing fee for splitting crepes, but it is clearly marked inside the menu, and it's only 2$ per person, which equals 4$ for a shared meal. I don't find this to be a big deal, as I've travelled extensively and this is actually quite normal. The logic is that restaurants have to have certain rules if people always split meals, otherwise restaurants would go out of business! However, the restaurant usually splits the crepes for you, because this is usually what my friends and I do (bc we always get dessert!!). Maybe they just made a mistake or something. The previous reviewer should have brought it up to the server, as I'm sure the would have fixed the problem and you would have left happy. I have to say that we've always had excellend service, and over time this restaurant has really seemed to work hard to expland their menu, increase servers, and to provide the best possible experience. I have never had greasy food here. Actually, the mushroom crepe is my absolute favourite one!! Yes, it has a delightful cream sauce, but it's not "greasy" by any means. The food here is always executed with care and love. I have to say my favourite crepe (for dessert) is the Tango, a sort of caramel crepe. Divine!! I always often get the specias, which are really unique and well-priced. I higly recommend this place. Who cares if you spend an extra 2 bucks to split a crepe? It's so good, it doesn't even matter.
We enjoyed our first visit to this establishment and we happy to see a new venue. We were served a huge crepe (very tasty) and glad to have split this item. Stepping into this restaurant was like being transported to a Paris cafe. We both felt things were a tad over priced. A year or so later we decided to repeat the experience. The crepe was half the size and we were appauled to see we were charged $5.00 because we decided to share this item. We split this ourselves at the table. We thought that was an outrage and will never return. The quality and service had taken a sharp decline. It was greasy fare. The $5.00 undisclosed charge was the ultimate deal breaker. Never again.
