Having just lived in thailand for 2 years and...

Having just lived in thailand for 2 years and eaten nothing but thai food coming here was 2nd best i've found to thailand itself. Of the 4 restaurants that sell thai food in cambridge this is the only one where the people kitchen is thai and not Vietemese. Something other people need to understand is that most north americans wouldnt or couldnt eat full authentic thai food because of spicyness or strangeness, and that restaurnts are americanized thai food. The owners and staff here are very nice, the portions are good and the food very authentic. plan on returning often. And yes thai people eat ketchup, lots of it.

First off, why does this website continually post...

First off, why does this website continually post the review of someone who is obviously out to bash this little restaurant. There is one person on it who has written 3 reviews, all extremely negative. If the food is so bad, why does he return and then submit a review. I think he has a hidden agenda here. Maybe a competitors plant? This was our first visit after a strong recommendation from our son and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The servers, two young men who I found out were part of the family that owns the restuarant were excellent. Friendly, prompt, helpful in explaining the dishes and attentive without overdoing it. The Tom Yum soup had five large shrimp in it, and the flavors were excellent with just enough heat to really give it some jump. The cold spring rolls were well flavored and tasty. They too included three large shrimp. The single order chicken sate had two large chicken filets, grilled and nicely spiced, served with a lovely peanut sauce. Actually it was more like a peanut paste which had to be spread on. I prefer it a bit less dense so the chicken can be dipped, but the taste was delicious. The real highlight was the mango salad my wife ordered and which we both sampled. It consisted of slivered mango, onions, red pepper and some herbs in a light, tangy and very tasty dressing. We both loved it. To our surprise, all of the above plus our green tea came to a total of $22.00. which was far less than we expected. We will certainly make this a stop off point for us when in the Cambridge area.

been a year and thought I'd try this place again...

been a year and thought I'd try this place again (plus my sister had a coupon). My first complaint had to be that after we were seated and given menus or waiter/host disappeared for a good 10 minutes or so before a waitress came and finally took our order. Water and food did come out relatively quickly though with two full appetizer platters coming out first. The last time I ordered it most of the food was overdone or cold...today it was pretty much cooked to perfection and everyone in my party enjoyed it greatly. I ordered the Fried Rice Noodles with Chicken, Mixed Vegetables, Chili and Basil Sauce. The flavour was good, though lacking in basil (again), but the noodles and veg were severly overcooked and mushy. I assume because it was probably made at the same time as the appetizer platter, then left to sit, and then reheated once our platters were eaten. My sister ordered the Papaya Salad (medium spice), and it was okay, nothing special really, and the medium was spicier than we expected, should've went for mild maybe. Like I said before, they need to tweak their dishes (especially the stir fries) and have more attentive and better trained service staff. I will probably come back just for the Appetizer Platter though, I really enjoyed everything on it (stuffed chicken wings, grilled chicken and shrimp satay, bbq beef and shrimp summer rolls, fried spring rolls, etc.)
