Uptown Eye Specialist

My mother went for her initial appointment for surgery (cataract removal) at Uptown Eye Specialists. Dr. Sohel Somani didn't so much as say hello on their meet, brushing off each of her very valid questions and concerns by telling her to discuss with the admin staff. He seemed very rushed and motivated to churn through the next patients as quickly as possible. He did take a second to let her know the cost of $450 which was $100 higher than she was originally led to believe the cost would be.

Dr. Furlong is rude and dislikes being asked questions. He is impatient and does not explain the prescription/ diagnosis/ treatment. Makes you wait a long time and then rushes you in less than a minute. I would go elsewhere where a patient is treated respectfully. Patients time is also important! They schedule way too many patients

Not sure why this place has really bad reviews. I got an appointment Friday Morning 9:15am, place was busy, staff were friendly, clean place, doctor Efrem Mendelcorn was ok. Only bad thing is there is a long waiting time, 2-3 hours to get things done.

I have a detached retina and was referred by urgent care dr. Receptionist barely looked up at me, seemed irritated then apparently misplaced my referral paperwork. Technician was distracted and left the room five times before finishing pre examination then when dr finally showed up, he examined my eye and mumbled some diagnosis and gave me no further information. He was rude and cold.

The doctor we are seeing is lovely. The rest of the staff are horrible. They need to improve their customer service and communication skills!!!

Terrible place - this doctor should be taught social etiquette - appointment was for 3 o clock - left at 4:30 - he had not even had the decency to advise anyone that he was running 1 and a half hour late Meat market deluxe

secretaries and managers are no good very miserable place I would not let my animals attend this clinic. I had a very bad experience there with the secretaries who are so unpleasant, its lit a mass production factory. People be very careful of this place

This clinic had some of the fastest waiting times compared to downtown , while yes the waits can be long within the office , overall the staff makes up for it, from the receptionist to the technicians (Jennifer I'm rooting for yea your so amazing with me and the kids I see you working with ) and of course to my eye surgeon Dr. Fariba Nazemi, she has to be the most understanding , patient , eye surgeon I've met , she's very patient and assuring and works well to listen to you and assure you, she'

I went to this place with my grandmother and and we met one of their doctor Dr Raj Maini . He was terrible, he don't know how to talk with the patient, was so rude. He talk to my grandmother in such a unmannered way .I was shocked that we are paying for this and how he is treating us. Looks like he is ignoring his job. I mean this is not a way to talk with a senior citizen this kind of behaviour is totally untolerable and I hope you never face this guy in your future as your consultant.

This Dr. is absolutely the worst! My husband went to see him on 4 seperate occasions. His manner is aboslutely disgusting. Doesn't give patients the time of day. Made us wait for 45 minutes while he had lunch, and then came in to say he got tied up in a meeting. We paid for a special removal, for which my husband had serious scarring and bruising for two weeks after. The worst customer service in GTA! Doctors are ok, but the office management of the Uptown Eye Specialists is one of the worst in Canada: always long lines and delays (you are EXTREMELY lucky if you spend just 1.5 hours for a scheduled appointment, 2-3 hours is usual time), and standard lie about "emergency cases" (it's not a hospital and even with acute inflammation you can't get an appointment within a week).

Good service and good doctors

They have good and professional doctors that will refer you to another specialist, if that is the case. The staff is kind and respectful.The place is easy to find and parking spaces are available. I have only good comments about them.

NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE!!!

This is a referral only DR but let me tell you if you get referred to this office, BEG to go anywhere else!!! Dr Nazemi is a nice enough lady who seems to know what she is doing but the fools who work as the "secretaries" are completely unprofessional and have NO CLUE what they are doing or how to talk to or treat people. I am completely disgusted by the service (or lack there of) by these people and they should ashamed of themselves and never be allowed to work in this profession again. You make UPTOWN EYE SPECIALISTS Look like fools but you ladies, are the fools. You would be better suited in a job that doesn't require dealing with people.
