A family that stays together eats together. It might be a variation of the original saying, but it fits appropriately when you meet Dilraj Aryal and his younger brother Yuvraj Aryal. They are the proud owners of the Indian restaurant Bombay Grill, which has several branches in the Greater Toronto Area, including Burlington, Ajax, Hamilton, Milton and Markham.
The brothers worked as chefs in several Indian restaurants in Calgary and Toronto before starting their first restaurant in Burlington. “Therefore, it was a no-brainer and in 2002, we made the obvious but risky decision to open our first restaurant,” says Dilraj.
Dilraj says it was their dream to run their own establishment and they thought it was important to give it at least one good shot. “Failure was never an option, but it was still at the back of our minds even though we had all the necessary skills to be successful,” he says.
The brothers are originally from Delhi, India, but they opted to use Bombay in their restaurant’s name. “The city, Bombay, was more known to Canadians than Delhi, so it preceded over the latter,” says Dilraj. “And since we were excellent at making grilled food, we named our restaurant Bombay Grill.”

BBQ lunch meal. Tandoori chicken, lamb kebab, naan and veggies. The meal had value and lots of flavours. I was great to just order a meal off the menu; freshly prepared instead of the usual over indulge at a buffet where sometimes food sits too long.
Great Indian cuisine!!!!! By far best in Burlington!! And maybe even the province. Just a great job keep it guys!!!
I have driven by the restaurant many times and we have intended to stop in...Boy....I wish we had sooner, food is authentic, home made, high quality and the service is incredible... Since my first visit I have been 4 times and my kids have all asked for take-out.. This owner has expanded...I wonder why... very proud to see Burlington in starting to become more diverse with the available dining choices!!!
This is the best indian restaurant i have ever been to and is hands down the best!!
We arrived after a movie at 9:45 and asked if they were still serving since they close at 10pm. They said yes and we were the only ones in the place. We started wih chai tea as it was cold outside. After some questions we ordered 2 sample plates they had on the "today's specials" board. One veggetarian and one with chicken and shrimp. 3 separate tasting bowls on each platter was more than enough (lunch the next day)and delicious. Also, staff was friendly and when we started to talk about the food regions and where they were from we were treated by the nicest man to a short description of his culture, both in India and Canada. He ended by inviting us to their place of worship/community centre for Sunday yoga and lunch. Very sweet.
