I took my good friends from Ottawa to Unionville and decided to try La Grotta for dinner. Party of 4. We were very impressed as soon as we walked in, very cozy, great atmosphere and a beautiful outdoor patio. We were suggested by our very professional and friendly waiter to try their Price fixed menu as well as their signature dish.. Rack of Lamb...Amazing tender cut complimented with an amazing red wine sauce. In addition, my friends and I were very happy to have found this restaurant. Great job!!
We went to La grotta on saturday night during the unionville festival. The restaurant was very busy and they also had line ups. Luckily we had a reservation. We witnessed several people being turned away because they were packed. When we got there we were made aware that service was going to take longer because the kitchen was overloaded with orders. We enjoyed the patio and the cozyness of the restaurant. The food was very tasty and fresh and we didn't mind waiting longer for our meal. We'll be back for sure, to enjoy the best patio on main street unionville.
Tonight I witnessed the most horrible table that ever sat next to my party of 4. I just read the previous review and I am perplexed on how people can be very cruel. From the beginning I knew that the table of 2 next to us,had come to dine with the mission of writing a bad review. They ordered a gnocci dish and a beef tenderloin dish and not a veal chop and a pasta special as they have written. She complained that her dish was creamy and made the chef make a new one. The waiter explained to her that the was the way the dish was prepared.He was very professional. When the waiter left she was laughing and was planning to keep on annoying the waiter. when she left I overheard her saying that she was going to write a bad review!!! Indeed she did and I felt obligated to write this review to explain to the readers that out there ,there are individuals who are willing to go the extra mile to try to destroy you especially if you are the competitor. Try La Grotta and you will not be disappointed!!
Last night I went to this beautiful restaurant with a party of 98 people and discovered this wonderful quaint cozy professional gem.They were very busy but we ended up sitting on their European beautiful cozy patio which everybody complimented the owners on.We ordered pretty much everything off the menu and they were so delicious.The steak was melt in your mouth flavourful and done to order.The lamb was so tender it literally melted in your mouth.Like butter.The pasta too was delicious.Like the ones you find in Italy that melts in your mouth.We overheard this other couple complaining but to be honest they seemed drunk and had totally inflated expectations.All in all I will definitely be back and choose this restaurant for my daughter's baptism party and my son's bar mitzvah.And the patio was exquisite.
Last Sunday we celebrated my daughter's birthday at La grotta restaurant and we had a very good time. The waiter was very attentive and very polite. The food was fantastic. The restaurant was also busy and the other patrons were complimenting the place. We'll be back.
