The food was very good, and my family and I really enjoyed it, although the waitresses would some times mess up our order, and I would have to wait about 1 hr for the sushi! The place was clean, but not spotless, and the Waitress was alright, but our drinks took about 10 - 15 min to arrive. I would recommend going there again, but I would have to keep track on what I ordered, so then I don't have to eat the wrong food. Who knows, the waitresses might serve other people the wrong order, and might result on making the people sick, or cause an allergic reaction! I really enjoyed eating the Unagi Eel, and the Raw Salmon, because I am used to eating that in Japan (BIRTHPLACE OF SUSHI!) Although, if I were to go there, the rest rooms don't have English Music, so I didn't really understand them.. I would also recommend not giving the tips, unless the waitresses, or waiters are very good. Also, they are NOT Japanese waiters/waitresses, and they are Chinese. It is OBVIOUS that you can tell by looking at their eyes, and so on. If you were going to be eating during the buffet, they changed the times, and you can't even stay for 1 and half hr anymore :( the buffet ended at 6 PM Eastern Time.
Food is good when it comes to most maki rolls, tempura is also very tasty and the icecream is quite refreshing. I've eaten at Ye's a few times, but I generaly stick to sishi and always enjoyed it. However other items on the menu such as chicked fried rice are very poor - barely any chicken, dry and not fresh. When it comes to service - the robot like waiters are very depressing and uninteresting. You would think that being as technologicaly advanced as the japanese, the waiter-bots would at least come preinstalled with english, a personality and basic waiting skills. Complete incompetence when it comes to service, which comes as no surprise considering the poor reputarion behind fob communication skills. As for the decor - clean, but dull and a bit primative for today's standards. The bottom line - Ye's is a good place to get good only sushi for your buck.
For an "All You Can Eat" sushi place, their food was quite good. I'm not sure what others were complaining about in terms of service, and I like the efficiency of the ordering system. Also, it's incredibly cheap (especially compared with other sushi places nearby). It isn't fine sushi by any stretch of the imagination, but it tastes pretty good, and you can get plenty of it. I've enjoyed my many visits there (perfect employee lunch), and never had a problem with service. Keep in mind, that if you're rude or disrespectful to the servers, you can't expect very good service in return (and this applies for all restaurants). The tip isn't really a big deal, since I usually tip 15% anyway, so it just saves me the time of adding it on.
first off service was great, and the food came out fast and accuratly. afterall we were one of the few tables there on a tuesday night. in regards to the food, that was pretty good considering it is all you can eat. like other reviews, our sashimi needed to be thawed. except for one rather painful surprise. i had ordered the new menu item, seaweed maki, and low and behold, i discovered a pebble! at first i thought it must be a very hard piece of rice, but further investigation (scratching the table with said pebble) proved it was indeed made of stone. so if pebbles dont throw you, i highly suggest" ye's all you can eat sushi buffet!"
food quality wansn't too bad (considering we're in waterloo!!). but, they dindn't give us bill and had to go to cashier to pay and i realized that the cashier (maybe owner's daughter??) tried to rip us off by not giving us senior discount for my parents. it's no brainer (they look a lot older than 65!!). and service was horrible. the waitress was trying to kick us out as soon as possible.
